![]() Rainier Sweet Cherry Tree
Noted for Gourmet Flavor
(2 customer reviews)Rose-blushed golden cherries don't tempt birds like the red ones do--you'll love the tasty results! The Rainier Sweet Cherry has large yields which ripen in mid- to late June. Hardy in bud and wood. Use Royal Ann to pollinate. Cherries are an excellent choice for home gardens. The incredibly juicy, bite-size treats begin to ripen to June- earlier than other tree fruits- and the fruit can be used in so many ways! Many varieties are self-pollinating, too, so you can pick a bountiful crop even if you have room for only one tree. Zones: 5-8. Not available in CA, OR, WA. Litterally less than 1 year after planting, one of these has many flowers and in addition the Royal Ann I planted a month later (as a polinator) has many flowers too. I am hopefull for fruit this year. These are very rugged trees, in addition to the -20 degree temps reached this year my dog has also done a little pruning of her own and I still have flowering trees! - Sunday, March 29, 2009Has never set a flower Reviewed By: Amy Spencer (Caulfield, MO) I purchased royal anne and ranier 3 years ago. The trees (especially the royal anne) seem very healthy. Problem is, I have never gotten a single flower- much less a fruit from either. I have fertilized them lightly with a slow release fertilizer on occasion and they seem like lovely trees--- but I sure would like fruit. Read More Reviews |
