Impressive size! Elephant Garlic looks like garlic and tastes like a mild hard neck type garlic, but it is actually a bulbing segmented leek. Plump 1 1/2-in. cloves have delicious, mild garlic like flavor; bulbs commonly weigh a pound or more. No need to peel. Each bulb averages 10 cloves. Not available in ID.

We have several in the flower beds and a few will bloom mid June. Love it and eat it year round. Try slicing a few and put in a jar with your olives.
