The Lady Fern is the smallest of our outdoor ferns! Soft, feathery 2- to 3- foot fronds are the perfect touch for perennial beds. Frames other plants with its lacy texture and cool emerald color. Cut right along with your flowers--makes an attractive filler for bouquets.

Ferns thrive where many other plants do not- in shade, acid oil and moist but well-drained ground. They need less light, but more water, and should be protected from wind. The sheltered area alongside the house that catches the run-off from the eaves seems made to order for ferns- the ideal foundation planting.

Bareroot.
