Delicate redbud
Reviewed By: Veroica Myers-Fuqua (Abbeville, Alabama)
This is a delicate looking tree. In early Spring the branches are filled with gorgeous pink blooms and this was the first tree to bloom. The bees were attracted to the flowers as there wasn't much else blooming yet. Now in April the leaves are heart shaped and deep purplish - reddish to medium colored. These trees do seem to grow relatively fast. Very little shade from them for now at about 7 - 8 feet. My neighbors tell me this is a tree with a life span of maybe 12 years or so.. I hope not, they are beautiful and I hope for shade from them and a long life besides the beauty.

A Beautiful Tree Year Around
Reviewed By: Barbara Garvin (Sioux Falls, SD)
If you see the pink/purplish blooms, you know Spring is here! I've loved the Redbud tree for years and am extremely pleased with the quality of the nursery stock offered by Gurney's. My bareroot tree started setting buds a mere four days after planting and continues to thrive. Thank you, Gurney's, for making my Spring's a little more colorful!

Love Those Redbuds!
Reviewed By: Barbara Garvin (Sioux Falls, SD)
Redbud trees signal 'Spring is here' when fuchsia-colored blooms appear on the trunk and branches. The tree is an explosion of blossoms, giving way to the most delicate heart-shaped leaves. They are a very beautiful tree and give wonderful shade for lazing under. I fell in love with these trees when I lived in Oklahoma and Kansas City, MO, and want to do my part to bring more of them to South Dakota! Thank you Gurney's!
