Planted all in pots inside until I could get them outside. For some reason, neither of the hazelnut bushes lived, while my apple tree flourished. Didn't even sprout once they were planted. However, Gurney's replacement policy is at work; they're sending two more this week--we'll see if they do better than the first round. - Sunday, June 17, 2007Gurney's Hazelnut Trees Reviewed By: Rick (Ellerslie, MD.) Recieved two 2.5 Hazelnut trees in March along with two apple and two pear trees. Fruit trees doing great, but the Hazelnut trees arrived in a box DEAD. Gurney's did a fine job of replacing them, no questions asked within a week. - Monday, July 23, 2007More dead trees Reviewed By: Jim B (Nesconset, NY) Like the previous poster I ordered my trees in mid-winter. Gurney's shipped them at a time when the ground was frozen solid and impossible to plant. The trees, as might be expected, died. Gurney's was quick to replace them but this time shipped them during summer heat. They spent two weeks in the back rooms of our various Post Offices and again, did not survive. I've given up on the Nut trees from Gurney's. The blueberries and rhubarb I got in the same order are doing well. They must be tougher plants. Read More Reviews |
