French Pink Pussy Willow
French Pink Pussy Willow
Earliest Spring Color

  (2 customer reviews)

Whiplike branches are lined with pink-and-white catkins in early spring. French Pink Pussy Willow can be forced to bloom even earlier indoors. Grows 8-15 feet tall. Best planted in full sun and moist soil.

Flowering shrubs are bargains in beauty. They produce a profusion of flowers and foliage- a feast for or senses- and seem equally attractive to birds, butterflies and hummingbirds. Even when they’re not in bloom, many add interest to the landscape. Shrubs grow fast, last nearly forever and require a minimum care.

Bareroot.

Great in Moist Soil
Reviewed By: Gail (Stoughton, MA)
This shrub grows great in moist soil. My property abuts a wetland area and I planted the pussy willow there. It has thrived! From the spring planting to now, it has grown about one foot and really has branched out considerably.

The only thing that grows in our yard
Reviewed By: Nick (Makanda, Illinois)
I bought this product (x4) numerous years ago. These little monsters didn't look like much when I planted them. In fact I thought they were going to die before the month was out. Thankfully I was mistaken, dear gods was I mistaken. They grew nearly 20 feet tall. I don't know if we had some freak growth material in our soil particular to the pussy willow, because gods know nothing else grows well in our yard. So be SURE to prune them down regularly if they act like ours. We didn't mind much though, since they block the view of the horrible little patio area made by the previous owner of our house, which has now turned into a minefield of sideways blocks of concrete. Bonus #2, it also blocks our neighbor from throwing sticks at our dogs. My father cut them all down with a chainsaw, their "stems" were thicker than a soda can and were taller than our house! They have since grown back as big as ever. You cannot kill these things. They're great! Just be sure to prune them if you don't want them so big.
