gorgeous ground cover
Reviewed By: Marie Kaz (Farmdale, Ohio)
In the spring of last year I planted a test patch of about 10 bareroot Crown Vetch on a hard to mow bank with poor soil (with areas of hard yellow clay). Some of my neighbors said there is nothing that will grow in such poor soil ... but this spring the Crown Vetch plants emerged a gorgeous cool green--almost fern-like--and do somewhat resemble very bushy pea plants with smaller leaves. The Crown Vetch plants continue to grow in this very poor soil, are spreading, and now have lavendar color flowers blooming (starting June 8th). They are quite lovely and some of neighbors out walking dogs have made comments of appreciation too. I have read that Crown Vetch can become invasive, but I will be glad to have these spread and choke out persistent weeds that need continual cutting. Now I am planning on sewing Crown vetch seeds in the fall, on another slop

Crown Vech
Reviewed By: Sandy J (Washburn, Missouri)
I have a embankment in my yard that I can not mow all of it. I am thinking in the future & I know it will get to a point I will not be able to mow it at all & then I will have the city on my butt. So while I am young I bought 20 of these plants & put them in this Spring 2008. They were slow at first but now they are going because of all the rain we are getting this year. I keep the weeds away from them for now so they can grow good. I can not wait till they take over the embankment. I ordered 10 more of these & just planted them 2-3 weeks ago to finish across my embankment & I can't wait for them to take off. My embankment is even shaded by trees & some of my plants are growing under tree limbs right now for which I will cut off when fall comes so they can grown even better. I can not wait for them to bloom. My neighbor ordered 70 of these just before I did but we got them in about the same time & they are doing well & are blooming & looking pretty. We both can not wait till it takes over our embankments & pretty the neighbor hood & we no longer have to try to mow our embankments any more. Who ever gets my place when I am gone will appreciate this & be glad that I did this. It will make there life easier. I wish I would of done this 5 years ago.

Easy from seed
Reviewed By: Rob (Weare, NH)
I was able to easily cover a rough slope with clover-like flowers in one season by top dressing the soil then broadcast seeding. Follow the care instruction on the website and enjoy the results! Prolific and long bloom period.
