![]() Hansen's Bush Pie Cherry Tree
Easy-To-Pick Shrub Variety
(8 customer reviews)Hansen's Bush Pie Cherry Tree is as handsome and hardy as fruiting shrubs come! The branches are covered with pure white flowers in May, absolutely loaded with purplish-black fruit in July. Grows 4-5 feet tall and bears at an early age. For best yield, plant 2 or more. Cherries are an excellent choice for home gardens. The incredibly juicy, bite-size treats begin to ripen to June- earlier than other tree fruits- and the fruit can be used in so many ways! Many varieties are self-pollinating, too, so you can pick a bountiful crop even if you have room for only one tree. Zones: 3-8. Not available in OR. Product Details

I planted them spring 09 (may) and by October 09; 2 of them are 5ft tall and are doing great. The third has stayed low and has bushed out more than the others who have taken on a tree like look. I havnt seen any fruit yet though. Even so; the tall tree/shrub look of these are gorgeous. - Tuesday, September 22, 2009hanson bush cherries Reviewed By: Liz (Leon, West Virginia) I planted three of them this spring. a rabbit cut one off about half way but it was still able to grow and is doing well. I have already picked about a pint of cherries off the other two. I didn't expect to get fruit until next year! - Thursday, August 20, 2009awesome taste--extremely hardy--easy to protect from deer Reviewed By: Cheryl (Medina, MN) We have six of these, as well as six Nanking bush cherry. The Nanking get really leafy and set small bright red fruit, with a more acrid flavor---best for jam. These Hansen's are less leafy, putting more energy into the fruit which are much larger and deep red or burgundy, and an exquisite flavor! Hint: cover with chicken wire cages while they are young to protect from deer/bunnies/etc for the mice, a hardware cloth collar around bottom should suffice. No need for poisons! I'm ordering more of these and probably going to shred the Nankings. Read More Reviews |
