Nanking Bush Pie Cherry trees are early and extra productive! Produces sweetly scented spring flowers and tremendous crops of tasty fruit. Bears up to 8 quarts of bright red cherries, ripens in July. Grows 6-8 feet high, looks good in a hurry. For best yield, plant 2 or more.

Cherries are an excellent choice for home gardens. The incredibly juicy, bite-size treats begin to ripen to June- earlier than other tree fruits- and the fruit can be used in so many ways! Many varieties are self-pollinating, too, so you can pick a bountiful crop even if you have room for only one tree.

Excellent sour cherry

Yea, well I have planted my share of twigs and sticks in my years. These are well worth the wait. I have these 4 years now and they have grown into a dense and impenitrable hedge. Of course they were planted too close. Those twigs look funny planted so far apart. I have been getting a steadily increasing harvest of delicious sour cherries. I am currently at the stage where my wife considers pitting the fruit a royal pain. The cherries and pits are a little smaller than the regular cherry tree. The tree ripens in the early summer at the same time as the tree. The bush branches are now totally loaded with fruit. Picking those 6' bushes are a lot safer than picking that 25' tree that is for sure. Picking is easy as you just run your hand down the underside of the branch and it returns loaded with little cherries. No diseases or pests have bothered any of my cherries here. The bush is a very hardy, happy, and vigorous grower with good looking foliage. They did the best in full sun but they work OK against the south wall of the house also. Makes a great Jaw Breaker Cherry Pie. I recommend this variety only. The Hanson Type ripens late and does not taste too good. I never tried the new one. Enjoy

I planted 3 trees (bushes) two years ago just South of zone 7 and couldn't be more pleased. I am eating my meager crop fresh this year but I have two more one year old bushes coming on. I couldn't be more pleased.

Great producer with pretty spring flower

I purchased these with some Hansen's variety and these are much better eating than the Hansens. I had to wait two years to get any fruit but that was partially due to rabbits who seem to love to chew off the new small branches. I ended up putting tomato cages and chicken wire around them until they got bigger. Now the branches are big enough and the rabbits don't bother them and my wife loves all of the flowers the produce in the spring. Be sure to water well the first year and these make a great wind break/snow catch.
