Forms a mat of semi-evergreen foliage 4-6 inches high. The Pink Emerald Creeping phlox blooms steadily April to May. Thrives even in poor soils. Covers 3 sq. feet.
Ground covers are as useful and often more decorative than lawns. Hot, dry spots above a hard to mow retaining wall or heavily shaded sites under trees are made to order situation where ground covers can work their magic.

| Comments: Water weekly first season and during prolonged hot, dry periods in subsequent years. Mix peat moss, compost or well rotted cattle manure deeply into the soil. Cut back the plant after flowering to encourage dense growth. Good for rock gardens or borders. Excellent spring color. Also called moss pink or ground pink. May experience some browning during winter if in a windy, frosty locatioin. In very cold areas plants may die back.
