Black Magic Colocasia has glossy leaves up to 2 feet long, with deep purple color. Plant as a dramatic screen or use to fill in along north-facing foundations. Towering form, 5-6 feet tall. Best planted in full to partial shade and moist soil. Lift before frost in zones 6 and north. Can be treated as a houseplant through the winter months or keep the tubers in a cool dry place through the winter.

| Comments: Grown for its beautiful deep, purple, ornamental foliage, which grows up to 2 feet long. In areas that go below 10 degrees F, the rootstock should be dug and over wintered in a frost free location. In future seasons, plant 2 to 4 inches below soil level. Keep well watered, best to mulch if not grown in standing water. Tuber with thick fleshy roots. Great for containers, specimens and water gardens. Elephant ears are heavy feeders. Plant makes a dramatic accent in the garden. Foliage emerges green and turns black.
