Reviewed By: Brian Spurlock (Lyndonville on Lake Ontario, New York) I bought 6 Jewel Black Raspberry plants in spring 2008. By summer of 2009, I had plenty of thumb sized raspberries. In 2010, I had so many raspberries that I struggled to keep up with them. In 2009, I transplanted about 25 of their offspring. Most of the offspring did well in 2010. I'll know this year if they produce like the original plants. Super easy to prune-just cut the plants back in the fall to knee high. - Wednesday, July 07, 2010A Decade of Berries Reviewed By: Lee in Iowa (Des Moines, Iowa) I planted these in 1998, and you should see them now! Even in my tiny garden, I pick a quart a day, easily. They yield ahead of other berries, so we have them by late June. Look out! They spread! (Just shovel up the babies and put 'em back in your berry bed, or watch where the arcing branches land, move the touchdown point to where you want the babies, and set a little rock on top.) The best! - Friday, June 04, 2010Amazing grower Reviewed By: Amanda (Chillicothe, Ohio) Got these last spring, and planted them. They threw out solid and sturdy canes quickly, and this year, have drenched my porch in blossoms and now, tons of berries. The new growths are taking off like wildfire, so I have no doubt there will be plenty of tasty berries next year. These are amazingly hardy...our lawn service didn't realize what they were, and mowed them to the ground 3 times in the first few months. Despite that, these have grown right up my trellis at the porch and look like they've been there for years. I would buy these again in a heartbeat! Read More Reviews |
