This unique heirloom variety is considered one of the best “black” tomatoes around. Indeterminate plants produce large, 6-in. fruits that weigh 10-16 oz. each. Heat-tolerant, Black Krim’s color deepens as the summer temperatures rise. Rich, slightly salty flavor makes them an ideal addition to salads. Great for fresh eating, too! 80 DAYS.
Tomato plants are not available in ME and MT.

Seeds will be shipped within 5-10 days of your order.

Plants ship only in the spring. If our spring shipping season is closed, your order will be shipped the following spring.

Zones: 3-9 annual
Height: Indeterminate 4-6' tall x 3-4' wide
Spacing: 18-24 inches between plants, 3 - 5 feet between rows
Depth: Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep. Plant outdoors after any chance of frost is past ( may use Kozy Koats to plant earlier). When transplanting, set the plant deep, up to the first true leaves, by digging a deep hole or digging a trench and laying the plant on i

Comments: Very richly flavored with a hint of saltiness, color is darker in hot weather, fruit sets well even in heat, heavy producer. Heirloom from the Black Sea area of Russia, beefsteak fruit shape, one of the best flavored of all the 'black' tomatoes. Tomato plants cannot be sent to: ME and MT.

Gurney's was great as always, but this tomato is one that I will never plant again! The bugs loved it, I had to put pesticide on them an order to get an edible crop, Out of all the plants I planted not a single good looking tomato. they would crack even when small, and did not ripen very fast and when they did the top half would stay green. I will give heilooms in general another chance but not this one. I was very disappointed in this heiloom variety.

The Black Krim is a great tomato, but over watering creates problems. Drip irrigation only when the leaves start to wilt. An application of Bordeaux mixture if leaves start to spot yellow will prevent the spread of fungus if over watered.

ALL OF THESE TOMATO'S LOOK VERY WONDERFUL , THE ,SELECTION IS SUPER HOWEVER CAN'T FIND A SPOT TO SAY IF THEY ARE AVAILABLE AS PLANTS OR NOT. SOME OF HERE IN THE COLD COUNTRY WOULD LOVE CHOICE AND CONVIENENCE YOU JUST ORDER AND PLANT........STILL OTHER THAN THE BIBLE GURNEYS CATALOG IS MY FAVORITE BOOK.
