won't grow in TX
Reviewed By: Kayla (Carrollton, TX)
I have tried to grow this spinach in north Texas and it grows to about 2 inches tall and then dies. It absolutely will NOT grow if it is not covered by a 2 L plastic bottle. Do not buy this if you live in a hot environment. I'm going to try growing this in a shady area to see if it does any better. This was not a good purchase.

will not grow

I planted the seeds at the beginning of June and as soon as the seedlings emerged and were about 1/2 inch we had record hot temp (1st week in July). The small plants started to grow seeds even though they were really small. I coninued to water them, but they were thin and only grew and inch with seed heads. I will try planting again and see if the cooler temp will give me a harvest in early fall. Crossing my fingers that the 2nd packet will be fine.

Poor germination and foliage. I didnt think Connecticut's weather was so brutal for spinach in the summer. Very disappointed.
