Stunning coral-red flowers and fruit make a striking house plant. Perfect for growing outdoors, too; will withstand temperatures as low as 40 degrees. Set plants outside in the summer— funnel-shaped flowers will attract hummingbirds! Potted starter plants. Zones 9-10.

Comments: Native from Iran to northern India. this shrub or small tree is a good container plant because of its small stature. Sometimes used for indoor bonsai because it takes to pruning well. The seeds, juice, and pulp are edible. the flavor is described as a comb of raspberry and strawberry and is high in potassium, vitamin C and phosphorus. Jelly and wine are common uses and also Grenadine is a concentrated syrup made from pomegranate to flavor drinks.

Plant grows swiftly. Mine is over 4 feet tall. Produced fruit its second year. Survives well indoors in the winter. Tasty fruit.
