Extremely durable and weather resistant. Flowerheads can be dried and used in fall arrangements or if left in the landscape, the flower heads become food for finches and other small birds.

Great tree!

While I havent ordered this tree from this grower since they just got it. I do have experience with the tree. My local state game lands that I hunt has a few orchards of sawtooth oaks. When we have bumper crops of mast, the deer will always single these oaks out from the other species of red or white oaks. So if your planting for wildlife, I highly recommend them. I'll be picking up some coming spring for my mother in laws 20 acres she had some timbering done on recently.
