But I would say that it’s the best tasting nectarine I’ve had. My kids (Ages 1 to 11) all loved it, some when it was firm and tart, others when softer and sweeter. We bought it last year, and this year it bore 37 fruits. They were delicious, but small for nectarines. They became ripe between July 2 and 10 here in central Maryland. It had some bacterial leaf spot, losing 30-40% of its leaves early in the season. That stopped , but maybe because the weather turned from very wet to very dry. On the other hand, it more than made up for this in growth. The tree must have grown a total of 3-4 feet higher and wider this season. The lesson is: treat it well (I fertilized and watered it well this year compared to last year) and it can really grow. It looks great now. Overall, I recommend the tree. It provides a great tasting fruit in the early summer, bears early and grows fast. I’d give it a 5, but I’m still a little unsure about the size and bacterial spot. - Thursday, January 03, 2008Yumm yumm... an understatement Reviewed By: Rafael (Vista , California) You see, I bought this tree a year ago on February with another 4 fruit trees, (plums, & peaches)and I neglected this tree almost completely, by not watering it. Last spring I went out to my backyard and to my amazement, it was the first tree to bloom, and quite a few flowers too, it was the first tree to ripen (the fruit)and oh by the way, I work at a grocery store (produce department) and I have never had such a tasty white nectarine and trust me, I've tried all the different varieties we sell @ my work. Nothing, and I mean nothing you buy at the store, compares to the rich, sweet, tasty flavor of YUMM YUMM!!! Read More Reviews |
