Comments: Remarkable frost and pollution tolerant. Does best in full sun. Will tolerate light shade, but will not flower as well. An outstanding triploid introduced by the late Dr. Egolf at the National Arboretum. Huge, clear-colored flowers with overlapping petals are produced continually throughout the summer and fall with no lapse. The foliage shows none of the yellowing in mid-summer that is typical of diploid Hibiscus. The lustrous dark-green leaves remain on the plant well into fall. This variety is also noted for its compact growth habit, ease of culture, and reliability. An all around winner of great beauty. It may be pruned up to make a small tree. Thrives in heat, humidity, drought and poor soils.

Rose of Sharon
Reviewed By: Carolyn Bishop (Twin City, Georgia)
My mother-in-law planted a Rose of Sharon when my husband was a young boy,(he was born in 1930) and the tree is still beautiful. It's full of blooms every summer, all summer long. It's outside the kitchen window and never gets any care. I just enjoy it!!
