Large, orange blooms have wide petals with charming black speckles. Late-summer to early-fall fl owers return year after year. Easy to grow—perfect for naturalizing. Strong, 4-ft. stems carry an abundance of blooms. 12-14 cm bulbs. Zones 3-8.

Comments: Stems are covered with grey/white hairs. Thrives in even poor soils. Mulch to keep root zone cool. May need to be staked. Bulblets formed in leaf axils. If pollen sets on clothes, let dry before brushing off. LEAVE FOLIAGE INTACT UNTIL IT DIES BACK AFTER SEVERAL FROSTS. FEED WITH A COMMERCIAL 5-10-5 FERTILIZER UPON PLANTING AND EVERY SPRING THEREAFTER ACCORDING TO LABEL DIRECTIONS. BULBS MAY REQUIRE DIVISION EVERY 3-4 YEARS.
