Developed at the Univ. of MN, Alderman is extremely cold hardy. Huge, dark red, sweet and juicy clingstone fruit ripens mid July. Gorgeous spring blooms! Can bear one year after planting. Pollinate with Superior. Zones 3-7.

Std. plums not available in CA, OR, WA. SD plums not available in OR.

Height: 10-12 feet for semi dwarf; 15 - 20 ft for standard trees
Spacing: 16 ft apart in rows 16 ft apart.
Depth: plant with graft union 2 inches above the soil surface
Spread: 10-12 feet for dwarf trees, 16 ft for standard trees
Sun/Shade: full sun
Pollinator: Superior, Waneta (both will do ok in zone 3)

Ordered two of the Alderman Plum Semi Draft trees & One of the Superior Plum at the beginning of the year. It just arrived yesterday, fast shipping & in great condition. Trees were budding, showing signs of life, etc... Can't wait to eat fruit these types of plums. It gets really cold & late frost is an issue in this area, I'm glad these varieties are cold hardy.
