A Hint of Peach!
(6 customer reviews)Gurney's Choice U.S. Patent No. 10191. Winona Giant Junebearing Strawberry is our top-rated Junebearer! Large berries have a delicious sweet flavor with a hint of peach. Introduced by the Univ. of MN, Winona is cold tolerant and highly disease resistant. Zones: 4-7. Strawberries announce the arrival of summer, bearing juicy red fruits loaded with sweet flavor. They’re among the most versatile fruits you can grow, too-use them in pies, on shortcakes, in jams and jellies, or simply pluck them from the garden and enjoy! Any surplus is easy to freeze, too. They arrived two days later than expected. I thought they would all certainly be wasted but what a surprise they turned out to be! I soaked them for a half hour and planted them. They all have green leaves sprouting out and look very healthy. I bought some from a nursery for three dollars a plant and they haven't grown at all. I guess transplant shock. I won't hesitate on bareroot again after this! - Wednesday, May 02, 2007healthy looking plants Reviewed By: Glenn Gervais (Jefferson, Maine) Every plany had green leaves, with the root systems being very well established. They look more vigorous than my other strawberry plants that I've had for a few years. - Friday, May 23, 2008Best Strawberry ever Reviewed By: Jeanette Bergman (Newport, Wa.)
