Pixie Crunch Apple Tree

Sweeter than 'Honeycrisp'

  (12 customer reviews)

This sweet beauty is absolutely unparalleled for fresh eating. One bite and we guarantee you will agree. This apple “explodes” with a breaking crispness, tantalizing your taste buds with mouthwatering flavor and juiciness. Delectable sweetness works wonders in no-sugar pie recipes and baked goods—cooks up tender every time. A favorite apple with children because of its flavor. We’ve seen kids choose this over candy and sweets! As if being tops in taste were not enough, Pixie also bears reliable annual crops starting in its third year for standard trees and often in its second for Li’l-BIGs, handling late frosts much better than other varieties. Matures late August. Zones 5-8. U.S. Patent No. 13871.

This item ships only in the spring.

Awesome Apple Tree
Reviewed By: Lance Dunkin (Patterson, AR)
Ordered this tree about 3 years ago. Planted it and cared for it pretty well. The results totally blow me away. When I received the tree in the mail, it was about 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall and a 1/3 of an inch in diameter with a canopy of no more than a couple of inches. Now, it's over 12 feet tall, more than 4 inches in diameter and has about 20 or more small apples. The canopy is about 8 foot in diameter. All I did was water it every 2 weeks or so and put compost manure at the base every month or so. Superb results, would most certainly buy it again.

Very Happy

Just ordered the pixie crunch in May. Was a little doubtful since is looked like a dead stick when it got here. Now less than a month later it is covered with leaves and even has some blossoms. I did not expect any blossoms until the second year. I am very happy with the tree so far and can hardly wait till next season.

Good and Bad
Reviewed By: Joey (Manhattan, Kansas)
I have 4 Pixie Apples growing in my orchard. I'm really happy with the growth rate as even in the 1st year, I had almost 2 feet of growth. And in the 2nd year they're growing just as good. My only complaint is that they are susceptible to cedar rust. All 4 of my trees are loaded with bright orange spots on it. So if you're close to Cedars, either plan on spraying this tree regularly or choose a tree variety like the Liberty or Sundance with much better resistance.
