Firm texture and rich color of “the good old days.” Seeds develop slowly, so the 6- to 6 1/2-in. pods stay smooth. Matures its large crop early and all at once. 58 DAYS.

Seed counts: A 2-oz. packet of snap bean seeds (bush and pole) contains about 150 seeds and sows a 25-ft. row. A 2-oz. packet of lima bean seeds (bush and pole) contains about 50 seeds and sows a 15-ft row.

This item ships at the proper planting time for your region in both spring and fall.

I planted this bean in 2007. They are wonderful cooked fresh or canned. I prefer to pick them young and tender. I was very pleased with this green bean.

My only regret is not planting more of this variety, as it was sweeter than the other variety I planted. So sweet, in fact, that my young children ate them fresh as I snapped off the ends. Next year, I plan to double what I plant of Blue Lake.
