Strawberry pyramid
Reviewed By: Rita Kanne (Newton, Iowa)
If you order the strawberry pyramid complete, don't expect to get the plastic cover when it comes. They show how to use it but they don't even have it. I was told it is a catalog error. Rotten Deal.

A good project.

I set my bed on plastic to prevent weeds. It's very easy to assembly by drawing a 6ft circle and stake the first fence. The assembly plans calls for approx. 1 cu. yd. of top soil. I bought 50+ bags of of 40 lb ea. = 1cu. yd. You couldn't get that much in the rings if you packed it down with a steam roller. I used 27 bags. I learned long ago to place (supposedly) live roots in water over night before planting. If the roots are good, you wont lose any when planting. If you place them 12 in. apart (which is close) it will take Approx. 30 plants. I put the rest in pots to use in case some of planted ones dies. I will make another small bed later. All in all it was a fun project. I would do it again. It didn't come with a cover, I was disappointed in that, but all in all, it is OK.

don't abuse the metal

I bought just the strawberry bed and the plants last year. About 10 of the plants died. The rest were scruffy looking and did not appear to be going to make it."behold" a Miracle !!! The plants came out of it great guns and filled in the bare spots. I didn't get any berries last year but this year it looks like I will have a bumper crop "Lord" willing. Thanks,, John Ramey
