Gardenias are beautiful.

Gardenias are beautiful. However I must spray them at least twice a year for the pest white flys. It is worth it though when the beautiful white flowers bloom in June. Mine are a hedge and are about 4ft. If you don't kill the white flies the leaves turn black.

Not so hard to grow!

I have not received my gardenia plant from Gurneys yet, but after reading the comments on this plant I felt that I had to post a few words of encouragement. I have had gardenias for years! Living in west central and northern florida I have never had a problem growing them! In winter I keep them outside on the patio or lanai and they flourish! In summer I bring them inside in the a/c and keep them near a sliding glass door. Also, here in Florida they actually bloom TWICE a year. Early spring and late fall.
