Juicy, purple-black berries produce mouthwatering jelly and deep purple wine. Hardy 25- to 40-ft. tree is fast growing and fine for shade. Ripens in late July. Zones 4-8.

Very small pencil size

They're puny sticks. That said, they are hadry and grew to 4' in the first year. I just put them from pots to ground and will see how well they do. I am hopeful that they remain vigorous in our foothills heat, clay and rocks!

Great tasting-juicy

Used to grow these when I was younger. I set out 2 more last year and of all the tree varietys I set out they are the only ones that survived the drought. Deer ate them back 3 times. One ended up 6' and the other is 3'. The 6' is covered with berries. I have just finished a 6' fence around both of them. For you that have never ate mulberries they are like a long skinny blackberry except they don't have the hard seeds and are never sour. Wife wants some more as all the neighbors are lining up.
