I'm really pleased. - Friday, February 18, 2011AWESOME!! Reviewed By: David Eisenhauer (Beaverton, Oregon) We bought our "tree" almost 15 years ago when they still shipped this variety to Oregon. My wife cried when she saw the little "stick" that arrived and didn't think we'd ever get any fruit off of it. Wow was she ever wrong. Our tree grew exponentially and started producing a few cherries in the 2rd year. Our first full yield came in the 4th year and has increased every year since. In 2009 we had our best crop of just over 400lbs!! The fruit is firm, delicious and quite rot resistant except in really wet years like 2010. All our neighbors and friends get all they can handle and then some. We have only had the tree professionally pruned back once in 15 years. The tree provides plenty of shade in the front yard. Leaves and fallen fruit left on the ground will kill grass. I would very highly recommend this variety of cherry tree to anyone living in a zone that it can be shipped to that wants a very hardy, productive tree with little care - the self pollination feature is a real life saver. - Thursday, April 16, 2009Hardy Sweet Stella Cherry Tree Reviewed By: Mary Simmons (Paramus, NJ) The tree arrived just in time for planting. As advertised it is about 3 feet high. Right now it looks like a thin single stick coming out of the ground. 3 weeks have gone by and I see small buds forming, so looks like it will live. But judging by the size of the tree, I can expect fruit sometime in 4-6 years. Overall not too bad for $25. But if you are in a hurry, I would suggest to invest more and buy an older tree.
