Not Worth The Money

I followed all directions carefully and got only 3 mushrooms. They were huge and delicious, but not worth the cost of the kit. I wrote to gurney's and they sent me another kit. I followed all directions again and this time got none. Definitely not worth it.

It is ok if you like the hobby of growing mushrooms. The kit worked as advertised, but the difference in home grown and store bought mushrooms in a recipe is hard to tell. It is not like growing fresh tomatoes, peppers, or squash. For the price of the kit you can buy a lot of mushrooms at the store.

I BOUGHT THIS KIT LAST FALL AND IT LASTED ME FAR LONGER THAN THE RECOMMENDED 3-5 WEEKS. THE MUSHROOMS WERE SO DELICIOUS, EXTREMELY FIRM, BEAUTIFUL IN COLOR AND TEXTURE AND THEY WERE VERY HAPPY IN OUR DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM SHOWER, WHERE IT IS COOL AND DARK ALL THE TIME. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND GETTING THIS, I'M HERE AGAIN AT GURNEYS BUYING ANOTHER KIT AS I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW, IT WAS WELL WORTH THE MONEY AND THE AMOUNTS OF MUSHROOMS, HAD I SAVED PICTURES OR WEIGHED THEM, WOULD HAVE MOST CERTAINLY EXCEEDED IN VALUE OF THE ONES MY PARENTS BUY AT THE STORE IN THOSE PUNY LITTLE PACKAGES. THEY ARE GREAT EITHER RAW FOR SALADS OR COOKED AND GRILLED, SIMPLY AWESOME =)
