Pink Smoketree

Pink Smoketree

Creates an unforgettable display in midsummer when its feathery lime-green flowers become airy pink plumes. In fall, blue-green leaves turn gold, scarlet and purple. Grows 10-15 ft. Prune to tree or shrub form. Resists pests and disease. Full sun. Bareroot. Zones 4-8.

This item ships only in the spring.

Product Details
Zones: 4 - 8 (-20° F.)
Height: 10-15 ft
Spacing: 8-10 ft
Depth: same as in nursery
Spread: 10-15ft
Sun/Shade: full sun
Color: pink
Foliage: medium green to blue green
Blooms: late spring
Comments: A beautiful and highly decorative shrub where-ever it is used in the landscape. The rich purple foliage does not fade in the sun and brings a wonderful color to the garden. In June - August seedheads develop into huge fluffy clouds of smoky pink (hence the name) and are prized for their delicate flower-like display. If it gets too tall or open it can be cut back to ground-level when necessary to induce compact new growth. A hardy and trouble-free shrub with multiple uses in the garden.

Pink Smoketree
Reviewed By: Anja (Pleasanton, California)
I bought a Pink Smoketree about five years ago and it grew fast. Unfortunately, have not seen it bloom. It looks like it's diseased with wrinkled leaves. Very leggy branches. Not real happy with it.

This tree leafed out quick. Hope to see a display of flowers in the months to come. Will rate higher at a later date, if it produces the flumes of flowers as expected.

dissapointed

Well fall is here in Florida but instead of the leaves turning colors they didn't. Once the leaves started turning yellow they turned brown and have begun to fall off. This was a tree full of nice leaves too. So this was a big dissapointment for me.
