Great tree. Has grown with little effort from me. Produces lots of leaves. Only one growing season on it, so I am sure it will be a great apple tree, with lots of fruit!!! - Monday, November 19, 2007Not up to snuff yet Reviewed By: A. Kopach (Schenectady, NY) I've just finished my 3rd year. In the second it produced 6 apples and this year the same branch produced 20 apples but none of the others flowered. I found this tree susceptible to a leaf scab that has migrated over to my Liberty apple which is suppose to be resistant to scab. I need to be diligent on treat through out the year to keep it in check. The apples produced were good but again, only on one branch. The Liberty planted a year later, that I got from you was loaded with apples. - Sunday, July 15, 2007Wonderful trees Reviewed By: David Van Wickler (Wading River, New York) I ordered two trees since I removed some large Oaks trees in my front yard to create more light. The trees arrived in a fine shape and after soaking for 24 hours I prepared the soil, had it tested and adjusted and planted the trees. This is the 2nd year and I had to call an Apple orchard nearby for help in pruning since the trees produced so many fruit, I was afraid the branches would break. They are absolutely fine specimens. Both the trees were unfortunately visited and damaged by deer, so I have erected deer fences (the trees are worth the effort). This winter during the dormant period the "expert pruner" will come and correct what the deer did). Apple trees are a long-term effort but the kids love the spring blooms and watching the apples grow. Thank you Gurneys for 2 splendid specimens! - DVW - Monday, July 09, 20074 in one apple tree Reviewed By: Leslie (Winona, minnesota) This is the third summer since I've planted this tree. Some of the branches don't get many leaves and for the second year in a row only one branch gets apples. - Monday, July 09, 2007wonderful Reviewed By: mary cox (topeka, ks) I ordered 1 tree and was suprised. It was so large when it got here. I soaked it and started to get leaves before I even got it planted. It has been planted 3 to 4 weeks now and it is covered in green even in the red clay I planted it in. I love it and may get another one in the fall so it won't be lonely. |
