I was pleased with how robust the roots were and their condition. We received Mary Washington. I have read on agriculture sites this variety isn't recommended anymore as more productive varieties are now available as Jersy Knight. We still feel we got a good buy, but this spring will purchase JK for another planting. Home grown asparagus ROCKS! DO IT.  -  Thursday, May 07, 2009 asparagus Reviewed By: Susan (Mt.
