Fruit trees purchased from Gurneys are the best money can buy. Last year I bought a Contender peach tree from Gurneys. I planted the tree as instructed and used tree starter fertilizer furnished with the tree. At the end of summer the tree was eight feet tall. It is a beautiful tree. I planted many trees over my lifetime and found no better trees than Gurneys. - Tuesday, March 20, 2007Great tree Reviewed By: Warren Lucas (North Salem , NY) I bought two peach trees three years ago and was rather suspect that they would do well in New York. I found the Contender was a simply great tree for my area. In it's third year it produced over 100 peaches and that was after I removed another 100 or so that had set. Looking forward to this summer! - Sunday, August 19, 2007Trees are growing like Crazy Reviewed By: JV (Germantown, IL) My two contender peach trees are in their second year and are already 12 feet tall. Even after a slow start last year (they arrived budded and acted stunned for a couple of months). They made it however and are thriving. Blooms are really attractive in the spring also. Can't wait for these to produce next year (hopefully). - Monday, May 12, 2008Looking good Reviewed By: Olaf (Montrose, MN) If anything like the reliance these should be great. The UPS guy dropped them off at the wrong post office 3 towns away. My friends there called me so I had to drive through a snow storm to pick them up. Happy little trees though. 0 stars UPS, 5 stars Gurneys, 10 stars USPS. 0+5+10=15/3 = 5***** - Monday, May 19, 2008Plant them early!!! Reviewed By: Mick Reese (New Paris, IN) Late spring of last year, I planted two of these trees. Even though I watered them like crazy, they didn't make it. Gurney's replaced them free of charge. They shipped them in early March of this year. I had to break thru two inches of frozen ground to plant them. That was the key!!! I watered them alot and the leaves just burst out. They look very healthy. I am convinced that planting these trees early as posible is the key!!! Great tree. Hopefully fruit in a couple of years. |
