They weren't just big, they were just as sweet and good as any of the smaller cantaloupe . I have pictures of them and my friends can't believe they are Cantaloupe . It is consistently good. My dad has grown mellons around 25 years near Portland, OR. The only other contender for top cantaloupe is Athena. Gurney's Giant is larger. See my post about Athena.
