pretty good corn

I got near 100% germination from this corn, it was my first try with this variety, and had high hopes overall. The sweetness level does not merit an sh2 billing. It had a more traditional sweet corn flavor that was not realized until the corn was at full maturity, It had little or no flavor if picked before. The downside of that was some loss of tenderness. Does not even come close to Gotta Have It in sweetness,...but is very user friendly and ALOT easier to grow. broadcast 20-20-20 at planting, probably should have hit it again mid-life, but still got 2 ears per stalk, albeit only about 7-8 inch ears on plants 6 1/2 feet tall. Just not as sweet as I hoped it would be.

This is the best bicolor corn I've ever tasted. The texture is nice and the crunch is great even after cooked. Just sweet enough.

Great Growing Sweet Corn
Reviewed By: Dean Taylor (Skiatook, Oklahoma)
I bought this corn for our small home garden. I planted it and only about 1/3 of it came up. But I later realised that the planter I used was the culprit not the seed corn. Planted again by hand and got 95 to 100 % germination. Produced early great tasting beautiful ears of corn. But only harvested about one ear per stalk. Again it was not the corn seed . I didn't fertalize it or weed it. I plan on planting an acre of this corn next year and take better care of it. It is the best corn I've planted in the last 20 years.

Easy to grow

I am very pleased with this corn. I had a very cool summer and the garden spot I had for the corn was only mostly sunny. Still with all that it did great and it is some of the best I have tasted. Just a note is that it produced very small ears, but considering the weather and lack of full sun I think that its a great pick.

Awsome

This was a real pleaser for my market sales.I planted 4 pounds at 5 inches apart with rows 4 feet apart.I used 19-19-19 via broadcast then did 2 more passing with disk.Planted in end of may when soil was moist and fairly warm.Germination was about 95-98%.I dont double seed.I put 1 seed every 5 inches.Once tasseled i put urea 38-0-0 as a side dressing. As with any corn it likes nitrogen.Every top set corn was at least 8 inches with many many at 10 in.lower corn was still 6-8 inches. Some stalks had 4 ears on it with all having at least 2 ears setting about 18-24 inches from ground for easy picking.Corn had great sweet taste and cusomters were in love. This was my first year of marketing corn.I charged 3.50 a dozen and many many people have came back loving it. Oh i also used bicep for weed control when corn first ermerged. So weed free was a success.Second crop was honey and pearl. If you buy this corn do yourself a fav with any corn really you have to make sure you have the soil ready for a good crop.Small ears or small stalks means lame soil.12-12-12 is a good starter but dont be afaid to use something highter right at planting.
