Excellent plant from Gurneys

Excellent, healthy plant from Gurney's. It's a Joseph's coat, an ARS 7.4, the plant from Gurney's is a very healthy, vigorous version of the classic climber.

Beauty beyond imagining
Reviewed By: Dorsie Hathaway (Vancouver, Washington)
I purchased two Joseph's Coat climbing roses several years ago to plant on either side of a gateway arbor. They grew well and are hardy in the Pacific NW. Mine have survived weeks of ice, flooding and this year, a tornado. Blooms on these roses are beautiful beyond my wildest imagining. It has become one of my most favorite roses and is my favorite climbing rose. The buds come in a deep crimson color, and as they open, change colors through the spectrum from vibrant crimson to red, a rich salmon, then coral tinged with with orange, pink, and golden, rich amber and yellow with pink. The fully bloomed rose's petals have a lovely soft yellow with pink that resembles the "Peace" rose. These have a long season, a lovely scent, and they like to be cut back twice a year and sprayed with fungicide. Very few thorns, great color and scent. A crowning glory for any arbor, trellis or garden structure, the Joseph's Coat climbing rose will give you long-lasting pleasure.

Great bloomer

I have had this rose bush for about 4 years now. Although I have struggled with aphids and black spot it has been a beautiful plant. Producing many big and beautiful blooms. It smells heavenly also. Great addition to my garden and it blooms well into fall.

Impressed
Reviewed By: L.R. (Eagle Mountain, Utah)
I ordered this rose on spring clearance and was impressed by how HUGE it was when it arrived. Including root length and the main 'trunk' part that was nearly 1.5 in in diameter, the plant was two feet tall and looks alive and vigorous. I look forward to seeing how well it does in my yard.

I'm not a rose gardener, beyond Knockouts, but I bought one of a these in May or June, it's now mid-July and I have had my first bloom last week! it is gorgeous. We'll see how it winters here in Zone 5, but so far, I love this rose, can't wait for it to climb my fence!
