Its name is somewhat deceiving though because in soils with a pH higher than 6.5 the blooms are pink instead of blue. - Monday, January 21, 2008Nikko Blues Reviewed By: Loretta (Mt. Rainier, MD) This plant must be a true Nikko Blue... I have never had a Nikko Blue turn pink. First bud are green. As flowers get bigger they turn blue and finally a maroon/mauve color when they die.
