They are doing great. They are green and standing straight up and it has only been about 3 weeks. I am impressed by them and at how strong the roots are. I purchased a few strawberry plants at a local store and they haven't even come up. This is the first time that I have ordered from gurneys and I will be back.!!!! - Tuesday, June 12, 2007First Season Reviewed By: Mike Emanuele (Virginia Beach, VA) The plants arrived this spring and the rabbits got the best of them on several occasions as well. A couple of the plants did not make it due to me transplanting while rearranging and expanding my garden. The fruits were small, however it will take some time for the plants to grow into seasoned plants. The season seems to be coming down to an end, but there were plenty of little bite size strawberries to pick all throughout the spring time season. My neighbor has the same type of strawberry plants from Gurney's and are into second full season and lets just say that you need a bucket when inspecting his strawberry plants. Two thumbs up! - Monday, March 03, 2008FANTASTIC Reviewed By: Mark L. (Frisco, TX) I planted the plants just 2 days ago, we had a large rainstorm last night, I went out today to check on the plants and to my shock they grew an inch overnight. WOW great plants from a great company. - Friday, April 03, 2009Great! Reviewed By: Shawn (Jacksonville, FL) I ordered these in early 2009 and planted them in early March, having my doubts they'd make it. Within literally 2 weeks, leaves were popping out everywhere. On some of them, it only took a couple of days to see leaves. 4 weeks later, and I have plants which are starting to produce baby berries. I'm amazed. They're growing incredibly quickly. I ordered 50 but got 58-60 in the actual order. I don't see any that didn't survive. I planted thee in really bad, sandy North Florida soil, water about 3x week, and they're doing great. - Friday, May 01, 2009hardy beautiful plants Reviewed By: Sonia (Sacramento, California) These are some strong plants. It took me several days to get these plants in the ground, and that with our scorching Sacramento heat.. out of 50+ (got a few extra) plants only one or two are small and dry looking, the rest are already bright green and huge considering I only planted them a few weeks ago. I'm very impressed and have high hopes for a lot of fruit. They are doing well both in potting soil in pots and in harder clay/soil in the ground. Highly recommend Gurneys in general as their seeds/plants regularly do much better than others I've tried. I use the strawberry food in a watering can for these and am happy with that as well. |
