Red surprise
Reviewed By: John (Temple, Texas)
I have planted many trees at this point from Gurneys, and this one promises to be a showy tree. It came with lots of root and hearty stems. About 18 inches. Soil is the key here in Texas. I had to amend mine with three types. Clay, organic, and peat moss all combined. The tree loves it and already has an inch of growth after a week. Fertilizer helped also.

I love these plants. Right now, mine are surrounded by a couple of inches of snow. They really stand out. Plan to add more in the Spring. I did lose one plant because of poor drainage. They don't like soaking in water!

not so pleased

We have had these plants for about 5 years. We previously replaced 2 of the plants, because of poor performance. This year they all look terrible; barely 1 stem on each is alive.
