The next year, Gurney's gladly replaced it at no charge. However, this plant didn't fare much better. It died within a month also even though I followed the enclosed instructions! I love blueberries, but will try a different plant next time. - Tuesday, January 09, 2007Growing Great! Reviewed By: Kathy (Los Alamos, New Mexico) Never thought I could grow blueberries in my alkaline soil. Well, I mixed peat with garden soil in a huge pot, and my Tophat Blueberry doubled in size the first year. Hoping for fruit this growing season! A must for blueberry lovers with alkaline soils, since it's small enough to grow in a container. - Monday, January 29, 2007Wow-what a yield! Reviewed By: Don (W. Bloomfield, MI) First two years, It didn't produce much, but the third year, there were so many berries that the bush sagged. Great little plant. - Friday, February 16, 2007Wishing and hoping... Reviewed By: Pat (Phoenix, AZ) I ordered 2 tophat blueberry bushes for my patio and when they arrived they were dead looking but I planted them and watered them anyway. They stayed dead. I will try once more - - by planting them in an upside down container and putting a frozen water bottle on the top (root side) every other morning and see what happens. - Sunday, March 18, 2007Not a hardy cold plant Reviewed By: Frank (Littleton, Colorado) Spent $50 on three of them. Planted them in the fall when recommended in large pots. They all died over the winter. This is not a good patio plant for colder climates. |
