Gorgeous even when it's not in bloom! Feathery plumes, 2 feet tall, tower above foot-high mounds of burnished bronze-hued foliage late spring through midsummer. The Pink Astilbe is ideal for cutting if allowed to open fully. Prefers partial shade, but will do well in sun with regular watering.

Comments: Astilbe grows in shade as well but better blooms will be seen with some sun. Keep soil constantly moist but not soggy. Fertilize in the spring with a 5-10-5 fertilizer. Mulch with 2-3 inches of organic matter around the base of the plant throughout the season. Plant with ferns (complementary), hosta (complementary), viola (similar bloom time), and Monarda (similar size, later bloom time).

I LOVE PLANTS ALL KINDS, I PICKED MY ALSTIBLE FROM A LOCAL HARDWARE STORE FOR $.25. THE STORE WAS JUST TRYING TO GET RID OF THEM, IT COMES BACK EVERY YEAR, EVERYONE SHOULD INVEST IN THIS PLANT IT'S A SHOW PIECE IN MY GARDEN. PEOPLE PASS BY AND COME BACK JUST TO GET A CLOSER LOOK, THE FOLIAGE ON THIS PLANT IS GORGEOUS, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLANT TO ANY AND EVERYONE.
