Popular, Prolific and Disease Resistant
(16 customer reviews)Gurney's Choice. Sets lots of large, delicious berries with sugar-sweet taste and a temptingly juicy texture. Plenty for processing--produced over 12,000 quarts per acre in trials--but oh, so irresistible fresh from the garden! Withstands leaf spot and leaf scorch. Self-pollinating. Zones: 4-8. Strawberries announce the arrival of summer, bearing juicy red fruits loaded with sweet flavor. They’re among the most versatile fruits you can grow, too-use them in pies, on shortcakes, in jams and jellies, or simply pluck them from the garden and enjoy! Any surplus is easy to freeze, too. Out of the 50 plants I received only 4 lived. Actually the same thing happened with the 2 blueberry plants I ordered but neither one of those lived. - Thursday, March 22, 2007same thing Reviewed By: Laura (Foresthill, CA) Same thing happened to me - I bought a lot of plants and seeds last year, most plants died - seeds did fine. - Monday, May 11, 2009Not impressed so far Reviewed By: Celeste Hamann (Simi Valley, CA) Unfortunately, I am not impressed with these strawberries. I usually order my strawberries from another company and should have continued to do so this year. I ordered three bundles of berries (one ozark and two everbearing but received three ozark instead) Out of 75 maybe 1/3 are looking healthy. Several looked worthless upon arrival but I planted them anyway. I have been growing strawberries for 7 years now and it has ALWAYS been so easy. Just ordered a bundle from the "other company" and can't wait for them to arrive so I can replace these! On a more positive note: the squash, corn, cucumber, and tomato seeds I ordered are doing very well. Read More Reviews |
