One didn't make it (it was dead within a month). The second, with fertilizer and regular watering during the first two years, has taken off...growing faster and healthier than I've ever seen or would believe. In my area, just about all the elm trees were wiped out in the early 1980's by Dutch Elm disease. That means that if someone were born in the 1970's or later, they may never have seen an elm tree, let alone know that they were plentiful in my area. I'm planning on ordering a few more for my tree lawn once I'm finished here. My landscaper is very impressed. I planted the first elm tree I bought from Gurneys, so if I can do it and get terrific results, anyone can. These next ones I'm letting my landscaper plant so he can have a better handle on how little work they truly are. - Sunday, December 26, 2010Super Fast Reviewed By: Jon (Houghton Lake, Michigan) This is a very fast growing tree. Just make sure you water and fertilize it properly the first year. - Friday, June 26, 2009Hybird Elm Tree Reviewed By: Teresa (Sioux Falls, South Dakota) I love these trees, they are so beautiful. We bought 2 trees in May of 2008 & they have grown over 8' and this summer of 2009 in one month they have grown over a 1' tall and they are 2 1/2 times taller than they were last year at this time. It is crazy how fast they grow. I love my trees. Read More Reviews |
