This stately beauty grows quickly to 40-60 ft. Not only does it provide dense shade with its rounded, spreading form and rich green foliage; it will also supply loads of thin-shelled walnuts with rich flavorful kernels. Walnuts are a favorite for baking and are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids and other hearthealthy nutrients.

Plant two or more to ensure pollination.

Comments: Bears as soon as 4 years after planting. Pest and disease resistant. Nuts fall free of husks when ripe. Full flavor, excellent quality. Drought resistant. Self-pollinating but produces better if planted in groups of two or more. Does not do well in wet areas. Nuts are easier to crack than black walnuts. Meat of the nut when cracked will most likely come out in pieces (sometimes may be halves).

Wrong Trees

Ordered 8 English Walnut trees 6 years ago. This year, one tree had 2 Walnuts but they were black Walnuts. I was so disappointed that I wasted all that money and time. I will never trust you again.

I bought 8 of these trees and out of the 8 only 2 started. Of the 2 that started only one is continuing to grow. The one that is growing is doing really well and is growing like Mad. Its sad that i spent the money on 8 trees and only 1 is growing.

I ordered 3 rocket root trees, they were out of stock. So they subbed 6 two to three feet field grown trees. This is the first year. I received them just before Easter. We got 6 inches of snow two days later, so could not plant them for 8 days. I put them in a 5 gallon bucket with two and a half inches of water, wrapped them with more wet newspaper, and rewet the paper everyday. I finally got them planted. Nut tres don't start to leaf out in this area until June. I was a kind of worried. In June, sure enough 5 of them leafed out,and number 6 grew from the bottom part. All grew 7 inches and the trunks doubled in size. So far I am very happy with them. Hope they make it through the first winter. I place all 6 across the front of my property, they will be beautiful.
