Gurney's Choice Our best-selling cantaloupe! Gurney Giant Hybrid Cantaloupe has compact vines which produce 4-5 fruits up to 18 pounds apiece. Gurney's Giant Hybrid Cantaloupe ripens in early August--a week before most really large melons. Deep orange flesh is extra sweet, with a high ratio of flesh to seeds. 80 DAYS.

Give melon fertile soils and warm temps (use black plastic mulch to cool regions), and you’ll harvest plenty of large, luscious fruits.

I grew a 23.5 lb & a 22.5 lb Cantaloupe with your Gurney Giant Hybrid Cantaloupe seed. They weren't just big, they were just as sweet and good as any of the smaller cantaloupe . I have pictures of them and my friends can't believe they are Cantaloupe . They say they look like the size of a pumpkin.

Gurney's giant is really as good as they say. It is consistently good. My dad has grown mellons around 25 years near Portland, OR. The only other contender for top cantaloupe is Athena. Gurney's Giant is larger. See my post about Athena.
