One year is was about 3 weeks late in harvesting and the beets stood up to it. I have been told I make the best pickled beets ever...I think it has much to do with the Forono Beet seed tape I use. Thanks Gurneys. - Wednesday, August 04, 2010Fondo Beet Reviewed By: Joe Redder (Genoa, NY) I have tried all kinds of beets for pickling , And after a review of trying the best ive ever have used is the Fondo Beet,Great Taste and is great for pickling, But make sure you hoe the dirt to the top of each beet, We dug some and were 3 feet long. Thats the best we had in July 23,2010 i would referr that to anyone ! - Monday, June 21, 2010Easy to slice Reviewed By: Valerie (Baltimore, Maryland) I am so impressed with these beets. The cylindrical shape make them very easy to slice. I don't skin them, the skin is quite thin. But best of all, the germination rate was almost 100% and I no problems with disease.
