![]() ElderberryPopular for Deep Purple Homemade Wine!
(19 customer reviews)Intensely flavored fruit with a rich aroma. Bountiful harvest ripens in August. Extremely hardy, tall shrub grows to 12-14 ft. No spraying required—both varieties are practically pest free. Plant two varieties for improved pollination, extended harvest period and top yields. York—Quickest to bear, often in its second year. Ripens late August. Nova—Great for pies, jelly and wine. Ripens two weeks before York. Potted plants. Zones 3-9. Sorry, this item is not available in AE AK GU HI PR. This item ships at the proper planting time for your region in both spring and fall. If the current shipping season is closed, your order will ship at the proper time in the next season. They shipped very late - were on back order. I planted in November when they arrived. Lucky that fall and winter were mild and ground was not frozen. All four are growing but I am skeptical that I will see more than a foot of growth this year. $25 a plant seems a little pricey for something so small but if my results end up like most of the reviews here I will be pleased. Definitely pleased that all 4 plants are growing. - Tuesday, April 17, 2012Healthy and doing well Reviewed By: Robin (Yakima, WA) Follow-up to a previous review-They were planted last Sept. The elderberries are doing well this Spring. They are leafing out and doing great. We are vastly pleased with them. - Wednesday, March 28, 2012What? Really? Reviewed By: Tracy (Firestone, CO) Super unhappy. I ordered 3 Elderberry bushes and they came in 2 inch pots. I could fit all 3 bushes in the palm of my hand. These are not priced right.
