Slicing cucumbers grow long and smooth; picklers are bumpier, blockier and quicker to produce. But both will pack into jars if harvested small enough. Slicing cucumbers have a mild flavor and tend to be thinner than pickling types. Ours also have good disease resistance and many are “burpless”, meaning they lack the compounds that cause indigestion. Selection Tip: Note 'Gynoecious' cukes bear only female flowers, for heavier production, but you'll need to plant another variety nearby to ensure pollination. We include seeds of a pollinator variety with all gynoecious cucumber seeds.
