I LOVE my black hollyhocks! They have been beautiful to watch, very easy to grow, they heavily reproduce, and they stand poor soil very well. They also grow in other tough areas. My first year they grew about 6 feet tall full of flowers. Also makes a great filler and eye-catching! A great conversation piece.

My first experience with a black hollyhock. It grew 6'plus, with beautiful elegant black flowers up and down each spike(about 14 total). It bloomed most of the summer. I planted it in front a piece of white lattice work. I planted in right smack dab in the middle of my vegetable garden. What a beautiful addition. It really stood out - my vegetables were great - I think they liked it too.
