Comments: Very disease resistant. Very large fruit size. Released from the University of Arkansas breeding program. Plant patent 11865. If planted in heavy soil, add peat moss, dehydrated cow manure, or compost. Hold plant in the hole, spread roots, plant crown 1” below soil; Fill ½ way; compact soil; complete filling; compact soil; water well. Susceptible to verticillium wilt. Do not plant where tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant or peppers have been grown in the past 3-4 years; Plant as far away from these vegetables if growing them. Can train to trellis. Berries are ready to pick when they separate easily from the stems. Birds will eat the berries.

Wonderful Plants

I ordered 6 canes in 2008 and planted them in early sping. I was very surprised to get berries that fall! I planted them in a somewhat shady area and they have still done very well and are putting out new shoots to fill the area already. This year the birds are getting them before they turn black so I haven't gotten many. Hopefully they will fill in enough that there are some for me. I think I may need to buy some netting.

One year after planting we have more giant berries than we can eat.Our three kids have picked a guart each morning for the entire month of August. We have enjoyed 2 cobblers and 4 pies already this summer and they are still loaded. We are freezing them now for Thanksgiving and Christmas desserts. What fun. Can't wait to see what happens next year.All from just 6 plants.

The best blackberries ever!!

I have never grown blackberries until I ordered the thornless Apache and Triple Crown plants. They are exactly as advertised, huge and delicious!! These plants have only been planted 3 years and they are producing large amounts of perfect berries and I don't do anything special for them except a little watering when needed. I would highly recommend these if you are accustomed to good tasting wild berries. These have great flavor and no thornes!!! Be sure to keep them pruned when they are about 3 feet high and then also prune the offshoot branches or they will get out of control real quick!
