The trees were packed with wet newspaper around the roots. The roots looked very healthy, and the length of the tree trunk was as advertised. - Monday, May 14, 2007American Hazelnut Tree Reviewed By: Nancy Marie Houghton (Newport, Washington) I ordered the expensive larger size tree last spring and it came well wrapped and in a timly manner. It wintered well and is full of leaves this spring. It is putting out more shoots and is really healthy. Could not ask for a better result. - Thursday, May 15, 2008My dead branches have become trees Reviewed By: Gary Toomey (Athens, Alabama) I received my trees and I swear it looked like a couple of dead branches. They came in Febuary when the weather was 65 degrees. Gotta love Alabamas the next day it was in the mid twentys and we had a week long cold snaps. After that fine weather and a hard freeze. I covered them with plastic and kept throwing the water to them. My three German Shepherds looked at me like I was crazy watering dead twigs. Well it's May and one tree is about four feet tall and the other is five feet tall. Both are covered with new branches and leaves. Thank you Gurney's for these trees. I expect many good harvests.
